It’s so surreal, I just have to share.

My debut novel, so embarrassingly many years in the making, a little under four months now before its actual launch, is currently a #1 in New Release in Jewish Teen and Young Adult Fiction on Amazon.

Just as incredible, as of this writing, it is sharing a top ten spotlight with all Jewish YA books!!! At this moment, CASTLE OF CONCRETE happens to be sandwiched between THE DEVIL’S ARITHMETIC by Jane Yolen, which is only one of my most beloved books of all time, and a 2016 winner of all sorts of major awards, including the National Jewish Book Award and the Sydney Taylor competition.

All this craziness, and my shy, fierce Sonya isn’t even out in the world yet!!!

I know numbers change, and that’s okay. I also know it’s not about the numbers, not really. It’s about adding my perspective, my story, to the Big Conversation. It’s about taking this opportunity to connect to readers, to connect to the world. That is what excites me the most. But, man, it’s been SUCH a long journey.  And now, here I am, watching my little book off to a kind of start I hadn’t even imagined, and I am soaring.
