Winners and a little break

Hi everyone, and thanks for participating in this summer’s many giveaway contests. The winners of this latest one are Sarah Pearson (who won a signed copy of “The Sirenz!”) and Colleen Kosinski, who won “The Bestest. Ramadan. Ever.” Congrats, ladies — I’ll be writing to you for addresses shortly.

In other news, you guys won’t hear from me in the next few weeks, as I’ll be going to Italy with my family, for a well-deserved semi-annual to annual vacation in the Alps — the most beautiful place I know. I’ll come back in early-mid August with lots of pictures and maybe some new insights on the meaning of life. 🙂

“Talk” to you soon!

I know, Joanne, I FEEL lucky. Canada is lovely also. We visited it two years ago — or was it three? You’ll have an awesome time!

    Hi Katia,

I stumbled across your website while researching my husband’s family tree. His grandfather immigrated to Canada in the early 1900’s and we don’t know much of the family history. He was born in Busca, Italy and his relatives owned homes in Elva, Italy. Do you know much about the Raina side of the family? I see you went to your father-in-law’s home in Italy. I wonder if they are related. I look forward to hearing from you.

I know some and I don’t mind comparing notes 🙂 Was your grandfather a Raina? Feel free to write to me at katiaraina (at) yahoo (dot) com.
