This month my life is a nuts and bananas sundae. It’s out to lunch, unzipped, unglued, and fruity. Yes, this occasion calls for a nice metaphor mix!
I am still writing every morning, though the pace of the first draft slowed down, waaay down, because of which I started revising my other project, too! To manage my impatience, lol. In the past, when I tried working on two books at once, I’d always end up losing one of the projects. But I’ve grown stronger now. I had to take the chance again. And word by word, morning by morning, one tiny decision at a time, I am doing it!
I’m also back at work, and beginning of the school year at my job is extra, extra everything. (Fifteen plus meetings to manage! Dozens of new IEPs to write! Yay!)
Throw in a birthday celebration in Las Vegas.
Top all that with family drama and hard emotions, long-ago patterns rising up to be dealt with.
I’ve been paying more attention to the skies lately. Feeling the stars shift through my heart. Watching the moon play catch with my mood. Are you all up on that cosmic stuff? Like, every other planet is in retrograde right now, and tonight, the moon is super-duper, and extra, extra blue!
I also work out almost every night and keep practicing math. And recently I started getting back into the piano. Just a bit. Just learned two new songs. Freddie Mercury’s “Show Must Go On” is my all-time favorite, and actually has been since age 15. (If you wanna know how I’m doing, just listen to the song. It’s a perfect summary.)
Nuts and bananas; I warned you, didn’t I?
My secret to managing it all? Baby steps. Total faith. And excitement.
Because guess what? I absolutely love it, all of it, all of it, every last difficult little nut and sweet bit. This month has been pure fucking fun.
There is a season for everything, right? A season to rest, a season to play, a season to work it. Well, this right here seems to be the season for freaking EVERYTHING.
Love you all so much,
Katia
