This month I am celebrating one year in this beautiful state of cool waters and cool people, magnificent mountains and drizzle-soaked skies. It truly has been a year of blessing on blesssing on blessing, and counting.

To celebrate our Washington anniversary we (ironically) got away for the weekend to the neighboring British Columbia, Canada. It’s still so wild to me how close we are to the border. Side note: Canada is so cool. (Yes, cool is my favorite word today, clearly.)

Anyway, remember I told you I was going to a conference? That’s what that was for, with a litttle getaway weekend tucked into it. And WHOA, what do you know? Surrey International Writers Conference turned out to be not only the best conference I’ve gone to (in terms of vibe, organization, uniqueness, attendance, value, etc.) but it turned out to be THE BEST conference experience for me and a story of mine, to date. (Yes, this is a bold and ALL CAPS sort of a post).

That’s right, I said it, Auntie Motya; I refuse to be afraid to share, I am taking my friends for a glorious ride along with me. This weekend I pitched my little writer’s heart out, and I am overwhelmed and flabbergasted and delighted by all the love the Monsters Can’t Love premise received from the attending professionals. I actually had high expectations going in, and even with that, somehow, the reactions took me by surprise.

I am so grateful to the Universe for guiding me here. What a way to kick off the new (and maybe final?) agent query season, omen. ❤

Now, brushing up that synopsis and pitch, and getting ready to send some requested pages. If you’ve got some good vibes to send my way, keep them coming friends, and may all that good will and well-wishing find its way right back to you!
